This book is supposed to represent the journal of Earl Turner, a white nationalist revolutionary who is fighting back against the Jewish order and minorities who have taken over the country. This book involves shootings, bombings, firing squads, hangings, and other acts of warfare and war crimes. The book can be seen as a dystopian image of the future through the eyes of white nationalists. The book targets jews among other minorities such as black people. The radical white nationalist group fire missiles at New York and Tel Aviv. The book depicts of cannibalistic black people that torture white people and eat them. Even today this book makes waves across groups like Qanon and militants such as the Proud Boys. Timothy McVeigh was found with pages from the turner diaries after the attack. The attack on the capital during the capitol riots draws parallels to the book. There is an event of mass hanging in the book called “the day of the rope”. during the insurrectionists riots they had gallows set up. In the book Earl turner writes after the Capitol attack ” The real value of all our attacks today lies in the psychological impact, not the immediate casualties”. This is haunting as it creates a message that rings out to all readers about the power of violence on a nation. People of the real world can be manipulated by this book and have their twisted ideas con confirmed by fiction. This kind of text is dangerous. Canada banned the text from being sold through most store fronts and Amazon has removed the book. It is clear that the country is moving in a violent direction with the increase in mass shootings, and the events of the book could become a very real issue today. The US is moving towards right wing radicalism, and with social media becoming stronger, people have more of a platform to take a stand on and unite.
