In my opinion, this book had kind of a slow start. It seemed like it was slightly repetitive in the sense that each day that went by was just Bambi talking to different animals and asking many questions to his mom. It didn’t start to get interesting until the seasons changed, Bambi got older, and the hunters, or “Him” started to come around. It seemed like it came to a sudden end, with Bambi’s mother disappearing and then two little deer popping out of no where who are his children.
I noticed that in the movie, as soon as Bambi was born, they immediately called him the “New Prince” and in the book it didn’t make it as obvious that he was going to eventually become the king at the end of the book. Also in the movie, I noticed that I lot of the other animals that Bambi was friends with had names and in the book they didn’t have the same names or any name at all.
Overall, it was very clear that the movie is a much more children appropriate version of Bambi, and it definitely has a more entertaining story plot than the book. I found the book to be a much more pleasant and easier read compare to the other texts we have read in this class which did make it a lot easier to get through.
