I’m actually very grateful for reading this article, partly because it led me to discover my research topic.  I think it’s safe to say that everyone is interested in conspiracy theories. I’m even considering it to be a potential research topic.  Keely did a great analysis of the response and causes for conspiracy theories, particularly the science behind it.  Conspiracy theories are mainly known for how drastic they can be or how close to being real they can get.  What’s not really known is how easily they can spread and be believed in.  When Keely lists these virtues of conspiracy theories, it was not that difficult to analyze any big conspiracy and see how they all have similar aspects.  One of the lines from the article also caught my eye: “By supposing that current events are under the control of nefarious agents, conspiracy theories entail that such events are capable of being controlled.” (Keely 123)
