After the death of Jesus, the disciples become worried about their own fates. For if the son of God was killed, what chance did they stand. Mary stands up and confronts their cowardice; she goes on to speak of a vision she received from the Lord. The disciples do not believe her because of her gender.

The Gospel of Mary is not included in the Bible. The discovery of this gospel was complete accidence or dumb luck. Could this gospel been lost and forgotten about, and that’s why it is not included in the Bible? Possibly, but this begs the question of if they did have it would it have been put into the Bible? I do not believe it would have.

History, including the Bible, is written by the winners or vanquishers, who most of the time have been old, white men. The idea of a woman being sent a vision or teaching from the Lord is absolutely ‘absurd.’ What makes Mary’s teaching even more unacceptable was the fact the sin was stated as natural and unable to be changed. So not only was this lesson from the Lord saying sin was not valid, but it was coming from a woman. How do you think that went over?
