I’m going to be honest, I had a hard time understanding the purpose of this text at first glance. I mostly just had to skim through parts of the protocols. The way they’re set up and numbered throughout just didn’t make much sense to me, but I assume it’s to describe different points of each protocol, why couldn’t they have just written a summary for each protocol to make it shorter? But after researching more about the text, I got more of a backstory and a purpose. From what I can gather from this text, it looks like these protocols are rules set up by a group of around 300 men in Russia. Apparently, the point of this text is to spread anti-semitism and to describe the secret plans that the Jewish had planned to “dominate the world,” but this was a hoax.
This text had begun in Russia but started to spread throughout the entire globe. It was then introduced to Adolf Hitler, which he used many times in speeches and his worldview. From what I can gather, this antisemitic text was completely made up to spread false information about the Jewish . So who knows how much different this era of time would’ve been if it would’ve never existed in the first place? Could we have totally skipped a World War? Would Hitler have had the resources to spread hate to Jews?
In some research I did about the text, it’s also stated that these protocols are taught as fact in some religions. Personally, it just seems so controlling and limiting your capabilities of someone can do. It’s also used in many hate-based groups, like white supremacists, neo-nazi, and people who believe the Holocaust didn’t happen. To know that it’s pretty much a widely held standard for hate groups is scary.
