SCUM Manifesto

SCUM Manifesto was an interesting read. In fact it was quite an intriguing read. The main idea behind the SCUM Manifesto is the idea that men have forever run the world, and they oppressed the female sex. It illustrates the idea women must unite through an organization called SCUM and must exterminate the male gender.

When reading SCUM, I thought it was another exaggerated text such as the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, however after some research I discovered that Valerie Solanas (the author) herself stands by the factuality of her manifesto. In 1976 SCUM was adapted into a short film that listed multiple passages of the manifesto in the film. The manifesto was later satirized by Andy Warhol in the film Women in Revolt, where the main group SCUM was translated to P.I.G. (Politically Involved Girlies). This added to the further joke of a manifesto this is. Her ideas are rash and severe and although I do see why she believed in what she did, it’s her overall approach that leads me to dislike this hyperbole text.

Her belief in the idea that we don’t need males to reproduce anymore is a slight inconvenience to women in general. These bone-marrow babies have a low survival rate and on top of that it’s rare they will be born fully developed. I understand her hate for the male sex as most of this world is fueled by male hatred, however in doing that you focus on the male sex as a whole, instead of looking at the good as well as the bad. Sperm is crucial in creating a healthy life as that’s the natural way of doing it. She implies a sort of reverse China law in which she wants to kill all male babies leaving only women to be raised.

In this entire text, she focuses on men as a whole, saying how the Y chromosome is an incomplete X chromosome and therefore men are an incomplete female. She focuses on the perverted men who can’t have a sense of dignity when it comes to arousal, instead of focusing on the men who care more about others than themselves. I can see how anyone would read this and think it’s an overexaggerated text or a joke to be edgy, however the author herself stands by this text and almost everything she said was nonsense. There is no factual evidence on anything she said, so in my personal opinion I take the entirety of the SCUM Manifesto as false and impractical.

Mein Kampf Introduction (D.C. Watt)

As I began reading the introduction to Mein Kampf, D.C. Watt introduces us to the mind of Hitler by telling us the sole reason why this book still is around. At first I didn’t understand why this book was still legal to sell and buy, until I realized that we must learn from it as history does tend to repeat itself. In the first few pages Watt states the following, “Why then revive Mein Kampf.” As they should, many Jewish people didn’t want Mein Kampf to still be sold as they had fears that some would see Hitler’s side and something catastrophic could happen again.

Watt states that although he understands the Jewish concerns, he says that the plague is over, and we must use this book to learn from it and understand why and how Hitler was able to achieve such horrid acts. Watt tells us that we must learn from Hitlerism. I have yet to hear this word until I read the introduction. He explains that young people should be impelled to learn of Hitlerism so that they must know how such horrid acts were able to be so easily done.

While not too much is known of Hitlers ancestors there is speculation that his late Grandfather could have been Jewish, oh the irony. Four of Hitler’s siblings died young and only one, his younger sister made it into adulthood. Seven of his mothers siblings died young, just adding to the grief stricken Hiedler family. Hitler and his younger sister Paula both made it into adulthood, where Hitler would kill himself¹ in 1945, and Paula would pass from a stroke in 1960.

Hitler first sold the two volumes separately, however in 1930 German publishers released the People’s Edition which combined the two volumes. While at least the manifesto didn’t sell as much as you would think (vol.I 23,000 & vol.2 13,000), however by the end of Hitler’s life Mein Kampf had reached the selling threshold of 8-9 million copies. There was also a copy of Mein Kampf written in braille so the blind could understand Hitler’s ideology and upbringing. While D.C. Watt touches on multiple subjects, from Hitler’s upbringing to the structures and ideology of Mein Kampf, I will forever believe that this book should be banned worldwide. Some will say that it shouldn’t as it will just add more attraction to the book, I think his thoughts and ideas should be burned forever just like his soul.

Mein Kampf Vol. II

I was assigned to read Volume II, Chapters 1-6 of Adolf Hitler’s manifesto, Mein Kampf. The chapter that I found most interesting was Chapter III: Subjects and Citizens. In this chapter Hitler talks about what defines a citizen and what defines an alien. Although from the context of what I know Hitler believed in, this passage wasnt that straight lined. He talks about if you are born in a country you are automatically a citizen regardless of your race or nationality (natural-born citizen) and states that as long as you aren’t a criminal or as long as you aren’t a financial burden, it’s accepted by that state.

In the same chapter, Hitler relates acquiring civil rights as the same as gaining membership of an automobile club. The quote is very cut and dry and doesn’t have much relating to the point of this chapter other than showing how generic gaining civil rights is. Hitler finishes off this chapter by casting every person into three categories; Citizen, subject of the State, and Alien. Every German child is a subject of the State and must complete a period of school education. Hilter tells how a natural-born German girl will be a citizen of Germany only after she marries, until then, she is a subject of the State.

In Hitlers fifth chapter, he states that many religions are just a philosophical organization that must destroy the opposing state to achieve its final goal. Such as the early Chrsitians having to destroy the Pagan beliefs and lifestyles before Christianity was recognized as the true religion. He tells his German nation that the men who wish to liberate their wonderful State, their brains cannot fathom the complexity and success of the German nation under his rule. He says they must deny and find ways to abolish the truth. In the end of Chapter V, Hitler brings up the word Völkisch, which means blood and soil. He uses this term in relation to the Völkisch Movement, which also looked at Jews as aliens to the German state and was heavily anti semitic. He tells how because of his Nazi Party (Nationalist Socialist Movement) many parties coined the term völkisch as their own and that if it weren’t for his movement then that word would have no meaning in the current time of his writing.

Hitler’s entire second volume is over the origin and importance of the Nationalist Socialist Party (Movement). Each chapter touches on his reasoning for disliking aliens (especially people of Jewish origin) and why his party believes in what they believe. While there are multiple theories as to where Hitler got his hatred to Jews from (a Jewish prostitute giving him a venereal disease or a gas attack brought on to him from people of Jewish descent) after reading these chapters it is clear to me that it doesn’t matter what started his hatred, because by the time he wrote these pages his hatred had formed into an almost religious mindset of hate. It saddens me that someone can think this way and I am glad this is a forbidden text as there was not one truthful paragraph I read.

The Original Bambi: A Story of Life in the Forest 2

The Original Bambi

When reading The Original Bambi: A Story of Life in the Forest, I noticed that the premise of the Disney movie I watched not so many years ago still holds onto the main story of Bambi, just not the main point of Bambi. I touched on the main point of Bambi in my last Blog posting.

Focusing on the story I noticed that there were three key symbols that I could relate into the story through characters. The first being the hunting dogs, who symbolized the Nazi Party in my opinion. In class we touched on how they were the bridge from humans to nature (the animals), however I like to stick with the main theme of the book which is the struggles of antisemitism. The reason I believe this is the dogs hunted down Bambi and the other animals, if it wasn’t for the hunting dogs (Nazi Party) it would be significantly easier for the animals (Jewish People) to survive.

The next character is The Prince. In class we discussed his true purpose which was to help Bambi succeed in life and learn to survive on his own. Thus he states how you should forever be alone, if you want to survive. This character as we learn later in the book is his dad, but before that was revealed it was easy to see that the Prince was Bambi’s father figure, guiding him through the forest and how to stay safe.

We also learn of Gobo and Faline/ Gobo was the deer that grew up in captivity, believing that the hunters loved him as one their own instead of raising him to get healthier so they can have a fair hunt. Honestly Gobo’s story was the saddest because you can make the relation of Gobo being the innocent Jewish children (or Jewish people in general) who had no idea that getting on those trains would be the last thing they did. They believed that the Nazis were helping them, not hurting them. Faline was the love interest for Bambi, in the movie Disney rewrote it to show how Bambi and Faline fall in love and have children, however in the book it states from the wise words of the Prince that Bambi must stay alone forever if he wants to survive, which he does. In the end Bambi listens to the Prince and leaves Faline, living alone, forever.

The Original Bambi: The Story of a Life in the Forest

When reading the Original Bambi by Felix Salten, you can easily understand the tone of the book. Disney turned the somewhat tragic story into a kid’s movie (as Disney does with most of its stories; i.e. Pinocchio, Peter Pan, etc.), disrupting the original meaning. This book was not too different from the version I watched many years ago, however its meaning was a U-turn compared to Disney’s. Walt decided to make the movie specifically about Bambi as if Bambi was a real fawn, following his life as he struggles to survive into adulthood with no mother to care for him. While in Felix’s Original Bambi, the story is very similar, the overall meaning of who “Bambi” is, is completely different. I got the impression that Bambi is Felix himself or a rendition of a Jewish child being born already struggling to survive.

Felix didn’t endure the early loss of his mother like Bambi did, however they both endured their own type of struggle. Felix was born into a Jewish family in 1869 and while he wasn’t persecuted directly (not until later in his life around his mid 40s and up until his death) he understood what many Jewish families had to deal with every day, especially living in Austria during the start of the Nazi party The rise of the Nazi Party started a train of antisemitism that existed well before the party erupted, however the Nazi Party flooded the minds of people who once looked at Jewish people as just another person. Just like in the Protocols, it is easy to point at Bambi as being a Jewish child being born in Austria around the time of the Nazi party, after you make that connection, you can spot Bambi’s obstacles as different antisemitic obstructions that were going on around the time of Felix’s writing period.

The Real Meaning of The Protocols of The Learned Elders of Zion

If you read this text without context of its original meaning, then it’s clear it worked. The Protocols of The Elders of Zion is a forged text plagiarized from multiple articles and writings. While it is unknown of the original author, there are multiple theories as to who the author is. At first I assumed a member of the Nazi party wrote it, to further the hatred of jews to its readers, however the copy first appeared in Russia in 1903. The Nazis Party did however assign The Protocols to many German school teachers to be read as factual to their students. Thus was my reasoning for why they were written in the first place. Ths not the case, so it leads me to the same question, who wrote The Protocols and why?

While there are some things written in The Protocol that still relate to the modern world, I honestly believe it was all hit or miss. There are 24 Protocols and in each Protocol there were multiple writings about how the world “is” being run. So by chance, one of the Protocols will have something still relevant to today. Such as gold being the worldwide currency. Look at Russia and China, they are buying up tons of gold and are trying to create a world-wide global currency that is based on the value of gold. They are doing this to kill other countries’ economies (if they are successful of course).

The Protocols are not real and shouldn’t be read as real, hence why they are a forbidden text. There will always be speculation on its original author, however I think there was more than one author. Making it kind of impossible to trace it down to the ‘original’ author. The Protocols of The Elders of Zion is a sick and disgusting text that should never be taught or read in school (this class is an exception to my opinion as you are teaching us the real meaning behind it). Always remember that this text was written to be antisemitic and to feed the reader’s hatred for Jews. Jewish people have been the target board for hatred and discrimination for years, and it is sad that people went this far to hoax a text in the form of a Jew writing about global domination.

There are no Elders, and there never were any Elders, this text is a hoax and a fraud. If anyone is reading this blog post and you haven’t read The Protocols of The Learned Elders of Zion, always remember that it is not an accurate text, it is a forgery.

Protocols of The Elders of Zion

Protocols of The Elders of Zion

When reading the Protocols of The Elders of Zion, I can heavily say that I was both confused and intrigued. Since the writing was translated to English (like most ancient texts), the wording would get more run on and less understandable. However I made due and tried to understand the best I could. In the Introduction the author tells us that the world is run by Jews, although the Jews claim this text is a forgery. This text in general starts off with mystery as it doesn’t state the origin of this text, just that it first appeared in Russia and it was Russia that destroyed this text. The version I read is translated by Victor E. Marsden who at first I believed was the author of this text, however it is stated that the text is a fabricated text plagiarized from multiple other texts.

Who were the elders? The text doesn’t support this question as it just says they are unknown, however it does state that all three hundred of them are jewish. The text also states that they elect the next Elders from their entourage, encouraging the reader (if they believe this was real) that the world is run by a small closed group of Jews.

There were many elements of each Protocol that I agreed with, however I must make note that most of this text was very anti-semtic. In the first Protocol, it tells you that the world is set from two perspectives, Jews and Goys. And while the text is in the perspective of a “Jew”, it is easy to see that this text was created with the purpose of making Jews look bad, hence why the followers of the jewish religion state that it is a forgery.

The text does have some stand points that still last to this day, which I will get into more in my next blog; but the overall message I take from the reading, was an antisemitic author who wanted to make the reader think Jews were evil beings trying for global domination.

Gospel of Judas

I have begun reading the Gospel of Judas, and so far it is much more detailed than the Gospel of Mary (has full context though so you can’t compare the two). However there are a lot of filler words. I think this comes from the amount of translations the Gospel has received. When Jesus talks to his disciples it is clear that they are at the utmost loyalty to him and will do anything he asks.

Jesus meets Judas and Judas already knows who Jesus truly is. Some similarities between both gospels we have read is there are many parts missing from the Gospel of Judas as well and the filler that the author adds in is just a guess. We could all be reading this gospel entirely wrong. However this aspect adds to the speculation on what is the meaning behind this gospel.

Jesus tells Judas what will happen to every human when they die. This is a huge aspect of this gospel. Any Christian wondering what happens after death can and should be referred to this gospel. Judas tells Jesus he has seen a vast house (The Holy Kingdom) and Jesus tells Judas not to worry about it as no mortal will ever be able to enter. The Gospel of Judas also talks about the creation of the original angels. I have never heard this story before so it was fun to learn about them. In the end of the gospel it states that Judas had betrayed Jesus for a lump sum of money.

This shocked me as Jesus did nothing but answer Judas out with his visions and questions. However, this is a great example of how Jesus only cares for others, even if they are a devil-spawn (evil). It is a shame that forty percent of this gospel is missing. It made it a bit difficult to read and understand at times, however using context clues I did my best to understand it.

Hitler’s Regime

I decided to choose books revolving around Hitler for my library assignment. The reason I chose Hitler is we will be reading the Mein Kampf later in this class and I decided to stick in the same vicinity of forbidden texts. First thing I noticed is how in-depth authors go on their bibliographies. In both the books I selected there were well over five hundred cited authors. One thing I noticed in connection to all four pieces of writing is how knowledgeable each author is on their books or articles.

One article mainly tells the backstory to the author himself, however it also justifies anything he says on the topic since I now know I can trust him with the information he gives me. Both the book The Origin of Totalitarianism and the article Theorist of War indulge in the idea of why is there war and why is war important. That got me thinking, is war important? Is there a point to war? Yes there is always a point to war, and there are some wars that are fought for good reasons. Any revolution that results in a civil war is a good war in my eyes. As the people who are at war with their own country, are just trying to better their country and their people.

In the book Hitler’s Mind: A Plunge into Madness, the author talks about how intrigued Hitler was with psychologists such as Freud. I would love to take a look into Hitler’s mind and see how his id is compared to everyone else. His brain is that of a salamander. It’s lacking the compassion of a normal human, but has the traits to keep him alive. Hitler will forever be a devil spawn and be the most hated man in my eyes, so to give him any applause would be absurd.

As much as I hate Hitler, the books revolving around the making of Hitler will forever fascinate me, as they usually don’t give any implication that he would turn into the psychotic mass murderer he will forever be. Forever burn.

Gospel of Mary

The first thing that intrigued me is how little is known of the Gospel of Mary. The fact that there is not a full book, but only eight pages of it is insane. These eight pages bring into light a new way of looking at the early christians. Mary was definitely shunned out of the collection of gospels in the Bible simply because she was a woman. However, since she did have a gospel of Christ there had to be some followers of her that she preached the Gospel too. Since the first six pages will forever be lost we will always be stuck entering the story in the middle of a discussion. In the opening pages of the Gospel, Mary states to the followers not to follow some heroic leader, but to believe and follow in one’s true self. This is contradictory to many churches of the modern day. Who preaches that you must follow Jesus or spend eternity in hell.

Mary is soon bashed by the other Apostles, because they do not believe that Jesus would give a gospel to a woman. How sad this is, it is very accurate for the time period as most women did not have any authority (excluding prostitutes who ran a lot of communities throughout all of history). It’s scary because the gospel that Mary proclaims has a beautiful message, however since the men are so deep in their own pride they refuse to listen.

Can we just imagine if we had those other six pages? It is honestly so intriguing that there is a Gospel of Mary and yet I have never heard or been told about it until Friday. I went to church tens of times as a kid and not once did my pastor talk about the Gospel of Mary. Why? I honestly think it’s because it is not a complete text. If all the pages of the Gospel of Mary were there, I think it would be one the most recited gospels to date. It also begs the question, is the Bible a completed text?
