Apartheid in South Africa during the 90’s:

I feel that this paper will be a great decision to make when choosing a certain topic. One of the main reasons I want to do this topic is because Apartheid has a wide variety of different issues that you can discuss and provides many different resources to why the issues happened as they did in South Africa. A few of the different issues we could look at during Apartheid in South Africa are segregation, white control, political resistance missions, Nelson Mandela’s role during Apartheid and the ANC fighting back against the South African Police force. I also feel that this will be a great topic to use due to the fact that I am from South Africa and the rich history my country has to offer and there is a lot of valuable information to research when it comes to the broad variety of information when it comes to this specific topic. Also as a rugby player I wanted to incorporate the sport and history of rugby in South Africa with my main topic of apartheid. During these times in Apartheid South Africa basically got cut off from the entire world due to the mass protests going on around the world to stop the apartheid regime and government. With external pressure from the world onto South Africa it also caused a major issue in South African sport and especially rugby. The entire rugby team was just made up of white players and the South African rugby team eventually had no other international teams to play against due to the apartheid regime and that the rest of the world had no interest whatsoever towards South Africa due to the racism going on in the country. Many other issues that were caused by the apartheid regime were inequality, poverty and unemployment that still has an issue on South Africa in 2023. I would also like to incorporate rugby in this research topic due to the fact that rugby isn’t just a sport in South Africa but is almost seen as a religion and is the one sport that brought the whole country together, no matter what religion you are or what color your skin is. When South Africa won the 1995 rugby World Cup it brought the entire country together and for the first time in decades South Africa came together and everyone forgot about the hurt, pain and depression caused by the apartheid regime. There are also many governmental pdf’s from the South African government that were released and will be very useful to me and will provide good information for the resources that I will be able to use.

Anarchists CookBook:

The Anarchist Cookbook is a book that William Powell first released in 1971. The book includes information on guerrilla warfare and sabotage techniques, as well as instructions and recipes for producing bombs, narcotics, and other destructive devices. Since its release, the book has generated debate; some perceive it as a guide for terrorism, while others see it as a means of empowerment against repressive regimes. The Anarchist Cookbook is a dangerous book, no question about it. It includes instructions on how to make explosives and weapons that can be used to cause damage to people and property. The SCUM Manifesto:

The SCUM Manifesto, created by Valerie Solanas and released in 1967, is a radical feminist manifesto. The “Society for Cutting Up Males” manifesto calls for the abolition of men and the patriarchal system they have established.

Maus I :

Art Spiegelman’s graphic novel “Maus” depicts the tale of his father’s experiences in the Holocaust. The work is distinctive in that it uses animal imagery to symbolize various racial and ethnic groupings, with Jews being represented by mice, Germans by cats, and Poles by pigs.

The nature of identity and how it can be altered by events beyond of one’s control is one of “Mauscentral “‘s themes. The use of animal imagery draws attention to how racial classifications are arbitrary and how people can be judged as inferior or superior based only on how they appear. Spiegelman also examines how the Holocaust memories of his father continue to influence his identity through the character of Vladek, as well as the long-lasting effects of trauma on personal identity.

Mein Kampf Introduction:

Adolf Hitler wrote the book “Mein Kampf” while he was imprisoned in the middle of the 1920s. Hitler’s political philosophy and his goals for Germany’s future are described in the book. Mein Kampf, which translates to “My Struggle” in German, is a book that Hitler used as a personal manifesto for his views and objectives.

Hitler explains that he authored “Mein Kampf” to lay out his political ideology and to give a history of his personal experiences and political growth in the book’s preface. He adds that the book is a call to action for the German people to band together and work to build a bigger Germany.

Hitler’s radical nationalist and anti-Semitic sentiments are expressed throughout the book. He calls for the Aryan race to rule supreme and the eradication of Jews and other perceived enemies of the German people. He also describes how he intends to increase German territory and build a new German empire.

“Mein Kampf” was contentious and filled with hatred, but it had a big impact on the establishment of the Nazi party and the events that led to World War II.

Mein Kampf Text Analysis:

I ended up reading the wrong Mein Kampf but I still decided to write on this version. Through the chapters of 11 to 15 mainly focuses on the ideas of nationalism, national pride and the unity of the German people. When reading this Hitler argued quite a bit about the German people that have a special destiny and mission and that the state must promote national interest. Hitler also mentions that Germany needs a strong leader to guide the nation of importance and how anti-semitic work that espouses racist and genocidal ideas. Chapter 12 mainly focuses on the role of propaganda and how it shapes the public opinion that ends up with taking control over the media. Hitler states that he uses this propaganda to control the information that people receive and speaks about creating a sense of community and emphasizes the need of a unified national identity. Chapter 13 mentions the idea of propaganda and the role it plays in the National Socialist Movement. Hitler states how it can be used as a powerful tool for influencing the public and spreading the ideology of the nazi party and the importance of a clear and powerful message to the public. Hitler also mentions the importance of how the media and how it shapes the public opinion. Chapter 14 focuses on the German race and how they are meant to be “superior” and the importance of the future of the country. In this chapter it also mentions how the National Socialist Movement would seek to eliminate those who are racially inferior such as the jews. Ending off with chapter 15, this chapter deals with the issue of anti-semitism and how Hitler states how the jews are the main cause of all the issues in Germany and represents a threat. He also claims that the jews have taken control of important institutions such as the media and the banking systems. This caused Hitler trying to remove the Jews and eliminate the “Jewish Question”

Bambi Reflection after reading:

I had a very emotional reading experience with Felix Salten’s “Bambi: A Life in the Woods.” The novel had a tremendous effect on my emotions and ideas because of its excellent narrative, stirring subjects, and eternal message. I experienced a variety of feelings while reading the book, from fear and despair to optimism and wonder.

The book’s portrayal of the forest as an environment that is dynamic and always changing is one of its most noteworthy features. The delicate balance between predator and prey, the cycles of birth and death, and the interdependence of all living things hit me when I read about Bambi’s adventures in the forest. I was in awe of this portrayal of the natural world’s beauty and majesty, I was reminded with the dangers of living there.

In addition to exploring environmental topics, “Bambi” also examines the difficulties of growing up in a coming-of-age story. I had a strong sense of sympathy for Bambi as he struggled with issues like losing his mother, his dread of hunters, and the challenges of establishing bonds with others. I was affected by Bambi’s fortitude and bravery, and I was motivated by his resolve to conquer the difficulties he encountered.

The book’s analysis of how human behavior affects the natural world was among its most impactful features. Salten illustrates the harm done by hunting, deforestation, and other types of human interference throughout the entire book. This was both a stark warning about the consequences of ignoring our duty to safeguard the environment and a potent reminder of how important it is to do so. I was very concerned about the state of the natural world after reading “Bambi,” and it reaffirmed my dedication to preserving the environment.

Bambi Reflection:

Analysis: Protocols of the Elders of Zion

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is a fraudulent document purporting to be evidence of a Jewish plan to achieve global domination. The text was first published in Russia in 1903, and it was quickly exposed as a forgery. Despite being debunked, the Protocols have been used for decades to incite anti-Semitism and to justify persecution of Jews. The text is widely considered to be a classic example of anti-Semitic propaganda. The Protocols have been used to justify persecution of Jewish people and to blame Jewish people for a variety of problems. It is important to note that the Protocols are a forgery and the ideas expressed in it are not based on any truth or evidence.There is no evidence that any such group as the “Elders of Zion” actually exists. The idea of a Jewish conspiracy to control the world is a classic anti-Semitic trope and is not supported by any credible evidence. In 1920, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party used the fraudulent document “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” as propaganda to promote their anti-Semitic beliefs. Hitler and other Nazi leaders cited the Protocols as evidence of a Jewish conspiracy to control the world, and the text was widely distributed in Germany in the 1920s and 1930s.When I read the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, I made the mistake of doing an analysis of the text from the perspective that it was real. By doing this I took the text to a personal level which stopped me from gaining full information on the text and reading the text with emotion was a mistake.

Protocols of the Elders of Zion

When reading the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, I was flabbergasted to read about what the Jews were trying to and how they were planning on taking over the world with different types of political concepts and using different ways to destroy different faiths by manipulating the GOYIM into falling into their beliefs and they tried to achieve this by mass taxes while progressively increasing tax so that the rich would also carry on paying tax to the autocratic government so that they were able to grow stronger and made the poor GOYIM turn to the Jews for help due to the increase in tax.

The text speaks about a secret society to take over the whole world and have 1 currency so that they have full control over the world to be able to have control over every nation and every religion. They influenced the GOYIM through the press and speeches which played a huge role in trying to brainwash and take over the public, although the public tried to stand up against the secret society and the autocratic government that was being formed, it was basically a lapdog and elephant situation where the public are the lapdog versus the power of the elephant, being the government. Another one of the concepts that the Jewish tried to use was to destroy capital so that the hatred of the rich would calm down and many of the GOYIM would turn to the autocratic government of the Jewish.

I felt very uncomfortable when reading this book coming from a christian background and having to read certain protocols about destroying God and the religion I follow. However this text really opened my mind and made me think about many things and took me outside of my comfort zone and made me think differently about certain things and allowed me to take much more information from the text

The Gospel Of Judas

Once again after reading and commenting on the Gospel of Mary, reading this as a Christian and someone who follows the Bible and who follows Jesus Christ, starting off the reading and seeing that the disciples had blasphemy against Jesus in their hearts confused me, because not once in the past 10 years has any of my pastors mentioned this.

Many of the disciples thought they were good enough for Jesus but when Jesus confronted them to step up if they were holy and perfect enough to fit the shoes, then they should step forward. No one stepped forward. I have also been very confused through out the whole reading and the fact that some parts in the reading or passage have been blanked out and for what?

I do not know the exact reason but it may be controversial or blanked out for a specific reason. Also through out the passage the word “Lord” has a capital “L” but when referring to the title “God” as in the God head 3 in 1. The passage uses the title with a lower case g, which caught my attention very early in the passage. I feel that this book was not added into the Bible for specific reasons, such as reasons like contradicting the christian values and explaining the depth of what really happened between Jesus and the disciples.

The Gospel According to Mary Magdalene

Reading this passage at first I was very confused as a christian realizing and I found myself asking why the “Book of Mary” wasn’t included in the Bible and I was confused to why? Did it not fit the Bible? Did it not suit the priests that all put the Bible together because Mary was a women? Or because the book itself made many christians uncomfortable and the beliefs would have been confused and contradicted with other books in the Bible. The Gospel According to Mary Magdalene speaks about how the disciples did not spread the word of God and the gospel joyfully but were rather scared to spread the Gospel as Jesus wanted them to, because they were worried about ended up with the same fate as him. Reading this as a Christian who knows a little bit about the Bible definitely clears up the reasoning and the image to why this book was not put in the Bible. Through out the Bible, the disciples of Jesus are put on a high pedestal and never once mentioned that they were scared to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ because through out the Bible we have been told that the disciples were supposed to be the closest men to Jesus.It brings up confusion and many questions to why this book was not placed in the Bible…

Forbidden Texts Library Assignment:

I reached out to the library and got 2 books from the same volume called “The Annual Register, World events in 1968 an 1969” If I am being completely honest, I had no idea what this assignment was about but I picked these two novels due to the title of each of the novels. Many of the World Events 1968 and 1969 were controversial and had many perceptions. Many of the events that happened in 1968 such as the Vietnam War’s Tet Offensive, riots in Washington, DC, the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1968, and heightened social unrest over the Vietnam War, values, and race. And in 1969 events such as Neil Armstrong walking on the moon, More than 350,000 music revelers attended Woodstock in New York in August 1969, The Montreal Expos debuted as the first non-U.S. team in the MLB, Sesame Street debuted on television in 1969 and Paul Newman and Robert Redford starred in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. This is the main reason I chose these 2 books, because I thought of many of the world events in the world that were very sensitive to specific groups of people and events that many people in the world still do not believe in today and I tried to make the best link between forbidden texts and these 2 novels.
