It was great to read the intro, because it provided me with more information concerning the Marquis’ life and legacies he had left with his writings. It also seemed like a break from the horrible content of the book itself. I liked how it touched on how de Sade thought. From what I heard, it sounded as though he was constantly having sexual fantasies and thinking perversely. There was also one part that claimed the book was a work of science. I agree with this in some way, being that we through de Sade’s writings, we can analyze the way his mind worked and how such egregious scenarios were constructed.
