The sole creation intention behind the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion was to blame the Jewish for the world’s perils. These Protocols were taken seriously by anti-semitic people when it was published and has even been used in school textbooks throughout the Arab and Islamic world. These stories, no matter how fabricated they have been proven to be, have been spread as fact for a long time. In the early 1920s, this story was shown to Hitler by an ideologist of the Nazi party. During this era of time was when he was developing his world views, leading to the eventual massacre that was the Holocaust. Also in 1920, Henry Ford published a series of articles heavily realting to the protocols into his own newspaper, The Dearborn Independent. These protocols were finally falsified in 1921 but still continue to circulate through anti-semitic and neo-nazi groups. This story was first written and published in Russia as an addition to a previous religious text. Now, this work of literature is seen as a classic when talking about fascist and anti-semitic texts. Essentially, the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion detail the “secret plans” of both the Jewish and the Freemasons to take over the world. This was created as a way to rationalize anti-semitism in the 1920s. The secret plans detailed in the obviously fabricated text include the idea of the Jewish and Freemasons joining together to control the economy, the media, and even fostering religious conflict. The aftermath of this work lead to many hate crimes against the Jewish and even resulted in the Holocaust because of the fact that it was shown to Hitler when published.
