To begin, my topic for this abstract is how the Holocaust affected its Jewish victims psychologically, physically, and geographically. To me the Holocaust has always been an interesting topic to learn about because of the vast amounts of information on it, butI have never dove into specific information on the victims and how it affected Jewish victims. From some basic research I have done so far, so many different people have been affected in many ways. There are many different instances of psychological and physical trauma that the victims faced and still face to this day. There are people that were affected for life by experiments done to them while being in concentration camps, and some of the worst experiment instances happened in the concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau by Dr. Joseph Mengele. In one instance there was a woman who could never reproduce again after the experiments that were performed on her. That is a very specific example, but many people were affected in many different ways. I plan on using first account stories from survivors of the Holocaust, and general research on events like the experiments done to argue the point that Jewish victims were affected negatively by the Holocaust. I plan on using online material and possibly books to find information on my topic, and I have been looking into some websites such as Hitsory.com and the Holocaust Museum website because of the factual information that those websites have, and some of the topics they talk about align with my topic very well. I also was thinking about looking into specific people that I have seen pop up a lot like Dr. Joseph Mengele, who played a huge part in the experiments that happened, and who was heavily involved in the twin experiments that happened at Auschwitz-Birkenau. One potential conclusion I have thought about was specifically how negatively the Jewish community was affected. Another possible conclusion I also thought about was how the broader communities around were also affected. In both of these possible conclusions I would argue that either community was affected very negatively.
