Men have run the world for as long as we can remember. Valerie argues that they are the reason everything in the world sucks and is ruined. Men are referred to as a “walking abortion.” Solanas says that the “Y” chromosome is an incomplete version of the “X” chromosome, therefore making men incomplete females. The reason men have ruined the world is due to the fact that: “He is a half-dead, unresponsive lump, incapable of giving or receiving pleasure or happiness; consequently, he is at best an utter bore, an inoffensive blob, since only those capable of absorption in others can be charming.”
Women have been the lesser sex all throughout history. Valerie Solanas has just voiced some of the things all women have thought at some point. Society gives women no power so this book is calling out how women are the “superior” sex. Women have the power to create life and tend to live longer than men… maybe there is a reason they have the power to create life. The S.C.U.M. Manifesto is an important text because it gives an insight into the furious female mind.
