The text Protocols of the Elders of Zion is essentially a Jewish conspiracy for world domination. The document is a supposed transcription of a meeting between the elder Jewish leaders that are discussing the so-called ‘protocols’ for how to rule the world. Some of these ‘protocols’ include turning non-Jews into slaves, taking hold of institutions, manipulating the economy, controlling the media, and perpetuating fear throughout the people.  The elders discuss that they must “not stop short before bribery, deceit, and treachery, if these are to serve the achievement of [their] cause”, as well as they must “confiscate property without hesitation, if by doing so [they] can attain subjection and power”. This is important to note because it goes in direct contradiction with the Jewish teachings. It is said in the 10 commandments that “thou shall not steal” which the elder Jews have no problem with committing such deeds to accomplish ‘world dominance’. This addition is particularly important because it questions the authenticity of the document itself. This conspiracy text feels as though it is just a reason that was made so that Jews could be discriminated against. Furthermore, the elders consistently degrade the Gentiles and describe them as “alcoholised animals stupified by the drink” and “bewildered by alcohol, their youths turned crazy by classics and early debauchery” and use this as a reason as to why they ‘need not take the Gentiles into consideration”. Although the religions are fairly similar it seems as though any branch of Christianity is unfavored by the elders because they have too many freedoms and liberties; the elders actually wish to restrict many of these that are ‘allowed’ by the Gentiles. The elders speak about gold and how it has “superseded liberal rulers” and that it will enable them to “create a universal economic crisis”. Gold is the key factor in securing their world domination because they believe that “society will strive after [it], making a veritable cult of materialistic pleasures with which it can keep them supplied”. Overall interesting reading but I would have to say it seems pretty fake and many sources say it is just a rip off of some other literature.
