The protocols of Zion are in essence the leaked meeting of Jewish Elites discussing a plot to take over and control Europe from within. There were 24 or 27 meetings depending on the text and they were held in Basel Switzerland in 1897. It was said that a coalition of Jews and Freemasons were making plans to destroy Christian civilization. It was first published by a man named Sergius Nilus who was a self-proclaimed mystic. If the date of the book writing is correct and was written towards the start of the anti-Jewish pograms in Russia. when thousands of Jews fled the country and were killed. Even though the text was quickly seen as a forgery, it did not stop the Orthodox church and several other organizations from distributing the text to the public and it eventually spread outside of Russia toward other parts of Europe. It eventually became a best seller in Europe and the United States, in which it was published by the car manufacturer Henry Ford. The Times eventually withdrew its support for the pamphlet after an investigative journalist discovered that it did not come from a mysterious meeting. The text included work from a French author named Maurice Joice who was originally attacking Napoleon and his policies in the book “Dialogue in Hell between Machivelli and Montesquieu. Hitler mentioned the text in both “Mein Kampf” and also many of his speeches. The minister of propaganda for the Nazis Joseph Goebbels also widely distributed the text. The text in recent years has been a big hit in the Muslim world. Many Muslim countries teach the book as fact and the terrorist group Hamas has made parts of the text included in their official charter. It is extremely saddening that even after 100 years this text is still scarily relevant to this day.
