The 120 Days of Sodomy is by far the most vile and disgusting book I have read and, most likely, will ever read. I found myself having to take breaks from the text pretty frequently. Although I have not finished the book, I completely understand why it would be forbidden. There is multiple, if not a hundred, scenes that involve the sexual assault, raping, and beating of young children. Even though the title includes the word “sodomy” I was severely underprepared for the graphic description of every single character’s butt. I was also quite disturbed at the idea that there are individuals who read this book and enjoy it. It is also a disgusting realization that these events are not purely fictional and did happen and may even happen in current times. Nothing about this was a good read. The only part I found semi-interesting or intriguing was the fact that the main cast of libertines and many of those mentioned during the story hour seemed to have an aversion to the female anatomy and prefer men. I thought that this was worthy to note due to the time period that this book was written and published in. There are many instances throughout the book where the men were “turned off” by the sight of the girl’s body, unless of course it was their butt. Which lead me to wonder, why even have the girls there at all? I realized that the sole reason the girls were there was to serve the libertine desire to hurt and assault women, not out of sexual pleasure but simply because they find it enjoyable. I do not wish to go into detail of the incidents because reading it once was enough for me. I am not one for burning books but if I had bought this book rather than renting it would most definitely be used as kindling (as in fuel for fire).
