Society has been going downhill for a while but the development of technology has sped up the process. Technology is just another way to take away the freedoms of the people and control everyone. Kaczynski sent a series of bombs that killed 3 people and injured 23 in 1978 through 1995. His manifesto was mailed to multiple medias.
Much of the manifesto discusses the different sides of politicals and how each side is wrong.
“The conservatives are fools: They whine about the decay of traditional values, yet they enthusiastically support technological progress and economic growth. Apparently it never occurs to them that you can’t make rapid, drastic changes in the technology and the economy of a society without causing rapid changes in all other aspects of the society as well, and that such rapid changes inevitably break down traditional values.”
“Leftists are antagonistic to genetic explanations of human abilities or behavior because such explanations tend to make some persons appear superior or inferior to others. Leftists prefer to give society the credit or blame for an individual’s ability or lack of it. Thus if a person is “inferior” it is not his fault, but society’s, because he has not been brought up properly.”
Kaczynski states that the world is falling apart, and this is largely due to the technical advances. Kaczynski also said that his methods were extreme but needed in order to prove his point and leave a lasting affect.
